Clash by Night

Story: A woman returns to a fishing village, marries one man, then falls for another.

Scenery: A Cannery Row historian's dream. Opening shots show cannery operations in some detail including the unloading of  the day's catch from boats, interior of San Xavier cannery, and a train on the tracks near Drake Street that are now the recreation trail. Two houses, once part of the Tevis-Murray estate (across from what is now the Monterey Plaza Hotel), were featured in several scenes. Also shown was Angelo's Restaurant on Fisherman's Wharf. Other scenes filmed on Fisherman's Wharf and on fishing boats out on the bay.

Also of Local Interest: Angelo's Restaurant, one of the first restaurants on the wharf, was owned by Angelo DiGirolamo, the late proprietor of the Wharf Theatre.
