Scenery: Scenes representing the Cornwall shore were filmed at Point Lobos. Brief scenes driving through a Monterey Pine forest, which appears to be in Pebble Beach.

Also of local interest: The filmmakers caused a considerable uproar by their disregard for the natural habitat in the areas they were filming.
