Braveheart

Story: An Indian tribe is denied access to a river for fishing despite a treaty with the US Government that grants the tribe full access for fishing. A young tribe member goes to college to become a lawyer to defend the tribe's rights, but a scandal involving a football game has him falsely accused of cheating and he is expelled from school and ostracized by his tribe. Yet he perseveres and argues the case before the state supreme court.

Scenery: Scenes involving the Cavalry were filmed in the forest at the Presidio of Monterey, a cavalry post at the time the film was made.
