Story: The lives and loves of three soldiers during WWII.

Scenery: Shot entirely on the peninsula, including Fisherman's Wharf, at the Beach and Tennis Club in Pebble Beach, at the Ghost Tree in Pebble Beach (near Pescadero Point).

Also of local interest: The story was based on the novel The Big War by Monterey author Anton Myrer. Several local residents were extras. Locally famous restaurateur Ted Balestreri, then a college student, had a small speaking role as Hunter's younger brother.
