Treasure Island

Story: Based on the story by Robert Louis Stevenson about pirates who take over a ship during a voyage.

Scenery: The shoreline outside the Admiral Benbow Inn was shot at Point Lobos and used as rear projection behind the actors on a Hollywood set. The correct image was used to represent the shoreline facing north. The same image was reversed to represent the view to the south from the same place.

Also of local interest: Point Lobos inspired Robert Louis Stevenson's setting for the island in this story. Maps of the island shown in some editions of the book bear some resemblance to Point Lobos.
